Based on the information you’ve shared and the little I know about you and your situation, the “#1 Calm-Space Mistake” that’s holding you back from your goal, is what I call “Brush”.
Here’s What That Means...
What that means is when it comes to creating a calm sanctuary you may often find yourself stuck in a painful place where you are surrounded by noises at home at all time and calmness doesn’t seem like an option.
I call it the “Brush” Mistake because some art teacher can say that when we apply paint to the canvas if we hear the sound of the brush on the canvas, we are not applying the paint right. I partially agree with that, but this is another discussion!
You might not realize that it is possible to find calm in a full house, that it is possible to build a calm sanctuary with other people around you, but it is possible, and it should not be your focus.
Common “Brush” Mistakes & Pitfalls
One of the big mistakes people can make when experiencing the “Brush” effect is to think that there is no way to find calm when being in a full house, whether with family or housemates.
You are focusing and blocking on the lack of calm in your home, when the focus is on how to create that calm. And the first step is to build a space for calm.
Finding the moment of the day, disciplining a household on silence, calm and on your right to have pause like them is the last step in the process to focus on. When you focus on potential challenges, instead of each step one by one, you will lose track on your goal and stress. It’s important to let go any barrier and focus on the first task, then the next one…
Here’s What You Can Do About It
Thankfully there are some practical and achievable steps you can take to create your own calm space. I made a checklist that you can find in the next page.
Each of these steps won’t take you more than 5 min. You start slowly with what you have already in your home. Start with what you have and grow from there.
Every day, check one of these steps.
Your Next Steps
Now you might need some more details and clarity about these steps.
Well, this is what I do all day, every day… I help people of all ages and situations to create their own calm space in their home, whether your mistake is:
-
‘Acrylic’ mistake: when people focus on the lack of time, instead of taking action,
-
‘Palette’: when people has built up a mount of clutter in their home, that they have no space for calmness,
-
‘Brush’: when people is surrounded by a noisy household and cannot find calm
-
Varnish: when people believe that you get not allow yourself for calm moment because you need to care for your household.
-
Frame: when people focus on your supposed lack of art decoration knowledge
